Dulwich College Prepares to Open Its First Thai Campus This August
The 400-year-old London institution joins a crowded wave of British school openings in Bangkok, with a 40-rai Bang Na campus designed for up to 1,000 pioneer students.
Dulwich College Bangkok is on course to welcome its first pupils in August 2026, becoming the newest addition to the Dulwich College International network and the group's first campus in Thailand. The school is located in the Bang Na district of Bangkok, on a 40-rai (15.8-acre) site that its developers are targeting for LEED Gold sustainability certification.
Phase one will accommodate up to 1,000 students and cater to Early Years and Junior School pupils aged three to eleven, according to WhichSchoolAdvisor. Facilities include swimming pools, an indoor gymnasium, full-sized sports fields and libraries. A Senior School and performing arts centre are planned for later phases, with the school ultimately intended as an all-through route from Nursery to Sixth Form.
The curriculum will follow an enhanced version of the English National Curriculum, with a Senior School dual pathway offering either the IB Diploma or A Levels. Thai language will be taught to both native and non-native speakers throughout, and Mandarin will follow the provision established at sister schools in Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing and Suzhou.
A market in full expansion
Dulwich's arrival coincides with what observers are describing as an unprecedented wave of British school openings in Thailand. Highgate International School, Wycombe Abbey and Glenalmond Phuket International School are all also set to open their doors this August, making 2026 the most active year for British curriculum launches in the country's history. Thailand currently hosts more than 250 international schools serving an estimated 70,000 to 80,000 students, in a market valued at over 80 billion baht and growing at around 10 percent annually.
The partnership behind Dulwich Bangkok was brokered in May 2024 between Education in Motion (EiM), the parent organisation of Dulwich College International, and Sakol Sathapat, a Thailand-based developer. The campus is inspired by a traditional Thai village layout, with low-rise buildings combining Dulwich heritage architecture with contemporary Thai design elements and a central Village Centre at its heart.
Pioneer scholarships and admissions
The school has introduced a Pioneer Scholarship Programme for founding families, offering tuition fee reductions based on academic merit and holistic criteria. Admissions are currently open for Early Years through to Year 7, with a temporary admissions office operating at True Digital Park West while the Bang Na campus is completed. A door-to-door bus service will launch alongside the school in August.
