Nord Anglia Posts 13th Consecutive Year Above the Global IB Average

Nord Anglia Education reported that 2,617 candidates across 51 schools averaged 34 points in the May 2026 IB Diploma session, surpassing the global mean of 30.88 for the 13th consecutive year, according to a PR Newswire release published on 9 July. Seven schools in the group produced at least one student with a perfect 45 points, and more than half of the group's IB schools, 26 of 51, improved their average year on year.

Asia's British schools in the mix

Nord Anglia's footprint across the cities covered by British Schools Asia is considerable. The announcement highlighted results from British International School Hanoi, British International School Ho Chi Minh City, Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, The British School of Beijing Shunyi, Dover Court International School in Singapore, Regents International School Pattaya, and British International School Kuala Lumpur. Taken together, they represent the largest single brand operating British-curriculum international schools across the region.

BIS Ho Chi Minh City had previously reported a class average well above the global mean, with one student achieving a perfect score. Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, which is this month opening a new Sixth Form Centre in Hung Hom, contributes to the group's Hong Kong IB cohort. Chief Education Officer Dr Kate Erricker said students "leave our schools ready to embrace life at the world's top universities, and beyond."

University destinations

University placement data published by Nord Anglia ahead of results day showed offers from Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Stanford, and UCL across the group's Asia campuses. British International School Hanoi saw graduates receive places at Berklee, Cambridge, Yale, Berkeley, UCL, and LSE. British International School Kuala Lumpur secured entries to Imperial College and King's College London. For a group that prices its schools at the upper end of most local markets, the sustained performance gap above the global average has become a core part of its proposition to fee-paying families across the region.
