London's Heath House Brings Affordable British Schooling to Singapore
A Cambridge-curriculum school from London's Blackheath community opens this August with founding-family fees starting at S$12,000, well below what most established British rivals charge.
Singapore's crowded international school market is about to gain an unusual entrant: a British school that leads with price. Heath House International School, backed by London heritage dating to 1993, opens on Bukit Timah Road this August, and the fee schedule it has published positions the school as one of the most affordable British-curriculum options in the city.
Fees begin at S$12,000 a year for Nursery through Year 1, rising to S$15,000 for Years 2 to 6, S$16,000 for Years 7 to 9, and S$17,323 for Years 10 and 11, according to WhichSchoolAdvisor. The school is offering a three-year fee freeze for families that enrol in this inaugural cohort, a commitment unusual in a market where annual increases of five to ten per cent have become routine.
The figures sit at a notable discount to the city's established British names. Top-year tuition at several premium British-curriculum schools in Singapore now exceeds S$40,000, and even mid-tier campuses typically charge upward of S$25,000 for secondary years. Heath House is targeting the gap between those operators and mainstream local alternatives.
What the school is offering
The Singapore campus runs the Cambridge International curriculum, paired with a character and leadership framework called Leader in Me and an Apple-powered technology environment. The initial intake covers ages five to fourteen, with year-group expansion planned annually until the school becomes a full all-through institution.
Heath House is part of Global Schools Group, a Singapore-based operator with more than sixty campuses across eleven countries. GSG acquired the original Blackheath school in 2023 and has been building out its British-heritage portfolio since; Heath House Singapore marks its first wholly new campus in the city-state. Students will be able to participate in a Knowledge Exchange programme linking GSG campuses in Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom, a selling point designed to differentiate a school that, by local standards, is asking families to take a chance on an unproven name.
The market it is entering
Singapore's international school sector has grown sharply since the pandemic, with several group operators adding campuses or expanding year ranges since 2022. Demand from professionally mobile families, particularly from India, South and Southeast Asia, and the broader expatriate community, has remained resilient even as some regional governments have tightened admissions rules or raised levies on international-only institutions.
Whether a fee proposition this far below the market average can attract families who might otherwise lean toward an established brand will be the defining question for Heath House in its first cycle. The school has not yet disclosed enrolment numbers, and regulatory approval is described as pending.
