St Paul's Girls' School Brings Its Second International Campus to Bangkok
Co-educational from the outset, SPGS International School Bangkok opens its first cohort in September 2026 across a 9.1-acre campus in Rama 3, offering a British curriculum and a path to the IB Diploma.
Bangkok has gained another British-linked school. SPGS International School Bangkok, developed in close partnership with St Paul's Girls' School in London, will welcome students from Nursery through Year 6 this September, according to Bangkok Online. The school is co-educational, distinguishing it immediately from its single-sex London counterpart, and sits on a 9.1-acre site in the Yannawa district along Rama 3.
The campus is notably large for a school in its opening year. Facilities include a 600-seat auditorium, two swimming pools, a black box theatre, professional recording studios, an innovation centre, and extensive outdoor sports fields. Country Group Development, the Thai property and education group, is the local development and operational partner.
The academic pathway
Students will follow an enhanced English national curriculum with Thai cultural study and language integrated throughout. iGCSE examinations in Years 10 and 11 will lead to an IB Diploma Programme at Sixth Form, a post-16 choice that sets the school apart from several other British-heritage schools that opened Bangkok campuses in 2026. Dulwich College and Wycombe Abbey, both of which opened this August, offer A Levels rather than the IB at post-16.
The Senior School is expected to open for Years 7 to 9 in 2027, with additional year groups following in sequence. At full capacity, the school expects to serve approximately 1,700 students.
A partnership model, not a franchise
SPGS International is the vehicle through which St Paul's Girls' School creates overseas partnerships. The model differs from the direct ownership approach used by groups such as Dulwich College International or Harrow International Schools: under the SPGS International framework, the London school provides the academic framework and values while Country Group Development carries the operational and capital risk. Bangkok is only the second campus to operate under the SPGS International banner.
St Paul's Girls' School in London is consistently ranked among the leading independent schools in the United Kingdom for academic results and university progression. For the Bangkok campus, that association carries obvious appeal in a city where the British school market has become considerably more crowded in the past twelve months. Whether the SPGS name is sufficient to differentiate it once the initial wave of openings settles will be the real test in the years ahead.
