Harrow's 15th Asian Campus Brings British Boarding to Guangzhou This September

Asia International School Limited is opening Harrow International School Guangzhou in September 2026, the 15th Harrow-branded campus the group operates in Asia. According to the South China Morning Post, the 48,718-square-metre campus sits within Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City in the Huangpu District, a development zone that city authorities have positioned as a hub for technology and innovation in the Greater Bay Area.

The school will admit students aged three to 18 from expatriate families and passport holders from Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan. It will offer the British National Curriculum through to IGCSE and A-Level, with a planned capacity of 1,530 students and approximately 300 boarding spaces. That boarding provision makes Guangzhou one of the most substantial residential campuses in the AISL network.

Lingnan meets London

The campus architecture is designed to blend two distinct traditions. Red-brick colonnades echo the buildings on Harrow's original north London hill, while elements drawn from Lingnan culture, the regional aesthetic of Guangdong province, are woven into the design. Facilities include a 900-seat conference centre, a full-sized indoor sports hall, and a swimming pool alongside the standard academic and boarding buildings.

AISL already operates Harrow-branded campuses in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai. The Guangzhou opening reflects persistent demand for premium British schooling in the Greater Bay Area, where the group has been expanding steadily since its Harrow Shenzhen Qianhai campus opened in 2023. With boarding at scale now available in the region, AISL appears to be positioning Guangzhou as a southern anchor for families who want a full residential pathway within the British system.
