St Paul's Girls' School Opens Its First International Campus in Bangkok
The London independent that consistently tops England's academic rankings has welcomed its founding cohort to a co-educational campus in the city's Rama 3 district, joining Bangkok's fast-expanding roster of British-curriculum schools.
St Paul's Girls' School (SPGS) London has opened its first international campus, welcoming around 100 students in Early Years and Junior School to SPGS International School Bangkok in September 2026. The school sits within a THB 14.4 billion mixed-use development on Rama 3 Road, built in partnership with Thai property group Country Group Development; according to Bangkok Online, the campus will eventually serve up to 1,700 students once its secondary phase opens in 2027/28.
The 2026/27 intake runs from Nursery to Year 6. The academic programme follows EYFS and the English National Curriculum through to IGCSE, with the IB Diploma planned for sixth form. Leigh O'Hara, who draws on leadership experience at the London school, serves as Head of School. The 9.1-acre campus includes a 600-seat auditorium, two swimming pools, an innovation centre and professional-grade recording studios.
What sets it apart
The Bangkok campus will offer SPGS School Directed Courses in Creative Technology, Computer Science, Drama, Music and Art, which the school says are available only at St Paul's London and here. The move gives the Bangkok campus a distinctive academic identity at a time when several new British-curriculum entrants in Thailand are offering broadly similar IGCSE and A-level pathways.
A co-educational model for a single-sex brand
The Bangkok launch represents a deliberate departure from SPGS's London identity as one of England's leading academically selective schools for girls. The international campus is co-educational from the outset, with boys and girls admitted from Nursery. Whether the SPGS brand carries the same weight when detached from its single-sex context is a question that operators of other UK girls' schools with international ambitions are watching closely.
Bangkok has seen an unusually dense wave of UK-linked openings this academic year. Dulwich College, Wycombe Abbey and Highgate all welcomed founding cohorts in August. SPGS International School Bangkok joins that group as one of the later arrivals, entering a premium segment that is growing but increasingly competitive, served by a widening range of well-resourced operators.
