Heath House Opens in Singapore at Half the Price of Its British Rivals
The London prep school brand launched on Bukit Timah Road in August with fees from SGD 12,000, making a direct pitch to local families priced out of Singapore's premium British tier.
Heath House International School opened this August at Alfa Centre on Bukit Timah Road, bringing a London prep-school name to Singapore at fee levels the city's British curriculum market has not previously offered. Annual tuition for founding families starts at SGD 12,000, according to WhichSchoolAdvisor, compared to the SGD 35,000 to 45,000 range typical at the established British names higher up the fee band. The school follows the Cambridge International curriculum and the "Leader in Me" character education programme, opening initially from Nursery to Year 9.
The school is the Singapore campus of Heath House Preparatory School, a prep school founded in Blackheath, London in 1993. Global Schools Group, a Singapore-headquartered education operator, acquired the London school in 2023 and used the brand as the anchor for its Singapore launch. The approach is one several operators have attempted in other Asian cities: attach a recognised UK name to a lower fee structure and compete for the segment of locally rooted affluent families who want a British pedigree education but are not on corporate relocation packages that absorb the premium.
The fee argument
Singapore's British curriculum market has long been structured around a premium tier built for expatriate families. The local affluent segment, now the faster-growing driver of international school demand across Southeast Asia, has had fewer options at the British end of the curriculum spectrum. Heath House is explicitly targeting that gap. Founding-family fees run from SGD 12,000 at Nursery to SGD 16,000 at Years 7 to 9 and SGD 20,334 at Sixth Form, placing the school broadly in line with the lower mid-market tier, closer to GESS or some of the newer IB schools than to the established British names.
A founding-family discount of SGD 1,000 per year is available to the first 100 enrolments. Operators commonly use this mechanism to accelerate initial uptake. Whether the fee structure holds beyond the founding cohort will become clearer when the 2027 to 2028 schedule is published.
A crowded moment to open
Heath House is launching into one of the most competitive years Singapore's international school market has seen. SPGS International School is preparing to open at Harbour Drive in January 2027; Brighton College Singapore added a Sixth Form in August; and a second ACS International campus is under development. For families choosing a British curriculum pathway for 2026 to 2027, or planning ahead for 2027 to 2028, the range of price points available is now meaningfully wider than it was two years ago.
For Heath House, the test will be whether the school can build a reputation quickly enough to sustain enrolment without the brand recognition that the established operators carry. The founding cohort discount provides an incentive for early movers. The 2027 to 2028 pricing cycle will be the first indication of whether the school intends to hold its position at the accessible end of the market or drift toward the norm once the initial places are filled.
